Defensive Driving 8-Hour is a comprehensive driver improvement program with a basic eight-hour curriculum. DDC-8 is designed to give drivers practical knowledge and techniques to avoid accidents, and to choose safe, responsible, and lawful driving behaviors. It's an interactive course with activities, case studies, discussions, and five video presentations.
Course Content
- Personal responsibility and driving
- Definition of defensive driving and preventable collisions
- Hazard recognition
- Drugs, drinking and driving
- Recognizing other drivers' behaviors
- Rules of the road
- Avoiding collisions
- The driving environment
- Vehicle condition, equipment and proper maintenance
- Occupant safety devices, including safety belts, air bags and child safety seats
Course Satisfies the Requirements for:
- Reinstatement of License
- Work Permit
- Under 21-Point Accumulation
- Court Referral
- Goverment Employee
- 2-Point Credit
Does not meet requirements for traffic ticket dismissal. (STOP Program).
