Hazardous Waste Inspections and Most Common Violations

Hazardous waste regulations are not for the faint of heart and your first experience with them should not be an inspection. The NDEQ has found that the best way to avoid violations is to educate companies on waste regulations and what the top violations are before an audit occurs. This session will briefly cover how an inspection unfolds, what most inspectors look for during an inspection and help you have a successful inspection should that time come.

Speaker:
Jim Harford, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality

Jim Harford is a Certified Hazardous Material Manager and works for the NDEQ in the Waste Management Division as the RCRA Compliance Assistance Coordinator. Jim has been with the NDEQ for nine years and was previously the Hazardous Waste Manager for the Nebraska Army National Guard. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and is retired from the US Air Force where he served in many positions over an impressive 26-year career.
