Increasing Safety & Wellness Engagement - Lincoln 3/28/2019

Learn from wellness and safety industry professionals on how to increase engagement in your safety and wellness programs. Nebraska Public Power District will also share their story of safety and wellness engagement success.

Nebraska Public Power District is Nebraska's largest public power utility serving 86 of Nebraska's 93 counties. They generate a diverse mix of renewable energy including wind, hydro-electricity, and most recently solar energy. Through their mission statement of “Safely generate and deliver low cost, reliable energy and provide outstanding customer service," NPPD takes safety seriously and believe that they are "SAFER TOGETHER" whether at work or at home. NPPD’s injury rate in 2017 was an impressive .87, the average for their industry is 5.3. 75% of NPPD employees participated in the wellness program in 2017 with 75.8% of the participants meeting the health score criteria or completed additional wellness program criteria. Overall wellness program participation beyond the biometric screening increased over 450% including CEO and Vice President visibility in programs. The proof is in the pudding with an average weight loss of 10.17 lbs per participant.
