Did you know that you are safer at work than in your home and community? Injuries and deaths at work have decreased substantially in the last 40 years due to focused efforts on incorporating safety in the workplace through policies, training, regulation, laws, language and culture. While deaths and injuries have decreased in the workplace, deaths and injuries in our homes and communities have risen. According to the National Safety Council's 2013 edition of Injury Facts, 118,991 individuals died off the job versus 3,909 who died on the job. However, we can reverse this trend.
