Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among workers in the U.S. On-the-job crashes cost employers an average of $24,500 per property damage crash and $671,000 per fatal crash. Even if a business doesn’t own any vehicles and an employee uses their own vehicle on the behalf of the business, a driver safety program is valuable. Discover the benefits of reviewing, developing, and enforcing a driver safety policy to encourage safe driving on and off the clock.
Mark Segerstrom, Road Safety Project Coordinator with the Nebraska Safety Council, will lead a discussion on workplace driving including safe driving policies, risk and liability, enforcing a safe driver policy, legal liability, and off the clock distracted driving repercussions to employers. As the Road Safety Project Coordinator, he is responsible for planning, developing and delivering presentations and educational training to Nebraska employers on traffic safety. Mark also provides consultation services to employers interested in developing a road safety program for their organizations and assure the administrative requirements meet the restrictions of our grant.
Bring your established driving policy (if your company has one) to this interactive discussion.
