Heather has a true passion for safety and improving the health and lives of workers. Her extensive experience with OSHA, EPA, and DOT agencies as well as knowledge of ANSI, NFPA, ISO and ASTM standards make her a valuable asset to the Nebraska Safety Council and our members. She has over 15 years of manufacturing, food, distribution and general industry experience holding management positions in Human Resources, Operations and Safety.
John has been with the Council for over 13 years. His credentials include a B.S. in Education from the University of Nebraska and an EMTA (Emergency Medical Technician Ambulance) from Southeast Community College. His responsibilities with the Council involve providing training and on-site consultation on a wide variety of safety topics including First Aid, CPR, Powered Industrial Truck, OSHA Construction Standards, OSHA General Industry Standards and many more. John is also an OSHA Training Institute Construction Industry Trainer and Trainer Instructor. His other duties include conducting walk-through inspections, customizing safety training to individual clients and adapting training for every audience.
Ric Voelker joined the Nebraska Safety Council as a new safety trainer and membership development team member in January 2017. Ric has been an adult instructor since 2004, with extensive law enforcement experience. He has been focused in workplace safety since 2006, most recently with Reinke Manufacturing where they won numerous state and national safety awards. With this addition, the Nebraska Safety Council is poised to introduce new classes and expand our capabilities for onsite courses and consulting services.
Courtney is a Certified Health Education Specialist and ACE Certified Health Coach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health from Iowa State University. Her passion for prevention has drawn her to look at all factors involved in a person’s well-being from healthy lifestyle choices to safe work practices. She grew up working for her father’s construction company and has been working in the industry ever since. Her desire to help people grow has made an impact on those who work with her.
